New training at CH Rennie Hospital for 3 Obstetric Clinician trainees

November 2015

Training has now started at C H Rennie Hospital in Kakata.  New trainees, Oretha Buway, Sanneh Kollie and Johnathan Lobbo, have begun their course in advanced obstetric care.  The trainers are Dr K Johnson, Medical Director at C H Rennie Hospital, Dr Magnus Asinya and Dr Harris.

Under Dr K Johnson, facilities at  C H Rennie Hospital have been upgraded.  Great improvements have been made to the main operating theatre, post natal and antenatal wards, the children's ward and the play area.

In early March, Dr Máire Casement, MCAI Senior Obstetrician, will travel to Liberia from her home in Northern Ireland and stay for 1 month in the first instance.  Based at C H Rennie Hospital, she will assist Dr Johnson in implementing this training and mentoring programme for the three selected trainee obstetric clinicians.

MCAI is delighted with the effort made to welcome Dr Casement, including carefully prepared accommodation (see picture below).
