Where your money goes
We improve the quality of care... refurbish emergency wards...provide emergency training for doctors and midwives...train traditional birth attendants....create emergency chains of care...advocate for improvements with governments...provide medical equipment, drugs and supplies for managing emergencies...work with local health workers...develop and distribute free, up-to-date and evidence based medical teaching materials...international child protection work...and much more...
We ensure that our work provides best value for money by keeping our charity running costs as low as possible and by making substantial use of dedicated volunteers. The two executive directors of the charity also work on a voluntary basis. Where possible, to ensure sustainability, effectiveness, and efficiency, our programme work is done by local health workers in the countries in which we work. We also employ local logisticians.
