Meggie Szczesny - Programme Director

Meggie joined MCAI in 1996 and was appointed to Programme Director in 2006 having spent the previous years working as Projects Manager. She has visited and worked in a number of countries MCAI is involved with. Before joining the charity, Meggie worked in the Child Protection department at Social Services. Meggie's interest in the charity sector began in 1992 when she worked with Social Services as a manager/interpreter for refugees from the former Yugoslavia. Meggie had previously spent many years working overseas in various countries and industries and studied Business Management and foreign languages.

Ruth Elmer - Programme Manager

Ruth studied at the University of Nottingham and spent one year working in China before joining MCAI in 2007 as Projects Assistant when the charity moved to Nottingham. In March 2009 she visited Cameroon to see MCAI's projects at Bamenda Hospital in action. She has recently completed a Masters in Development Management with the Open University, with a particular interest in international development and humanitarian aid.

Lizzie Bond - Fundraising Manager

Lizzie joined us as Fundraising Manager in Novemeber 2011. She was previously at Headway - the brain injury association, where she was responsible for volunteer management, corporate relationships and the marketting and communications of Headyway's fundraising activities. Lizzie also has experience in fundraising for the arts through her involvement with the Nottingham chorus Magdala. She has been an avid volunteer in Nottingham, supporting a variety of community projects and is passionate about building an MCAI community

Eliza Norman - Fundraising Assistant

Eliza joined the team in August 2011 after graduating from the University of Leeds in 2010 with a degree in International Development with English. She has visited several African countries and in 2009 climbed Mount. Kilimanjaro. Eliza has just spent the last year volunteering with a local women's charity and is passionate about exciting and innovative fundraising.
