Who are SFSM?

Students for Safe Motherhood (SFSM) is an autonomous student movement supporting the work of MCAI (Maternal and Childhealth Advocacy International), through awareness and fundraising initiatives.

Why 'maternal and childhealth'?

In the UK, 1 in 7530 mothers die during childbirth. In Cameroon, 1 in 23 will die.
In the UK, 1 in 166 children die before the age of 5. In Cameroon, 1 in 7 will die.

As these figures illustrate, maternity remains a significant health risk internationally for mothers and children alike. By raising awareness and fundraising for the international projects of MCAI, SFSM seeks to practically combat such inequalities. We'd love you to join us!
