Training equipment Bosnia

Posted: 15 Jun 2010

Today we are sending a consignment of medical training equipment to Bosnia. The equipment, including training manikins such as Resusci Anne, has been donated by Lions Clubs International’s ‘Gift for Living Appeal’ which has supported our work in Bosnia for over fourteen years.

Phil Nathan, Chairman of the Gift for Living Appeal said: “As just a small part of the world’s largest voluntary service organisation, Lions Clubs International in the British Isles and Ireland (http://www.lionsmd105.org/) have been involved via our “A Gift For Living” with MCAI and in a partnership of care that has delivered lifesaving support to countless thousands of babies and children in countries that were part of the former Yugoslavia. This latest project is the start of a major initiative that is intended to Improve Maternal Healthcare in Bosnia & Herzegovina and beyond. Entitled, Management of Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma, (MOET), it will be implemented in phases and fund raising by Lions Clubs via “A Gift For Living” will continue until the estimated project cost of approximately £250,000 is achieved. We are committed to the success of this project.”
