We’re delighted to report that 28 caesarean sections have now taken place at Basse Major Health Centre in the Upper River Region of The Gambia. Prior to our support the operating theatre was in desperate need of renovation but now the theatre is fully functioning. We have also ensured that there is a better water supply. It's essential that caesarean sections can be provided where necessary to help reduce the maternal moratilty rates at any hospital.
